The event called "Colors of Mothers: Baby Blue" was organized by the Society and Psychiatry Club of Acıbadem University at Kerem Aydınlar Campus, on Tuesday, 23th February.

The issue ‘Maternal Mental Health’ was discussed in utter detail at the event that focused on maternal mental changes.

Prof. Dr. Nazan Aydın who works in the prenatal psychiatric department of the International Marcé Society, represents Turkey in Postpartum Support International Associations focusing on maternal mental changes during pregnancy and who is a lecturer in psychiatric department at Bakirköy Mental Health and Diseases Hospital participated with Dr. Oğuz Omay, chief of prenatal psychiatry service in Tain L'hermitage La Teppe medical Center in south France, as speaker, in this event.

They drew the attention towards the postpartum depression.

At the event where presentations were made related to maternal mental changes before and after delivery, the speakers touched on the subject of postpartum depression including important issues like maternal psychological changes, denial of pregnancy and psychotic attacks.

Students of the medical faculty of Acıbadem University researching “Maternal Mental Health” for awhile now, found an opportunity to share their internship experiences within the framework of the event. İpek İnal, Bekir Berker Artukoğlu, Burak Amil ve Emine Kavak presented the patient histories they observed during their internship as doctor.
